DEFENSIVE TACTICS

Participants will learn basic self-defense tactics for all levels of resistance that can be used day in and day out in the line of duty. This program was designed to give Public Safety Officers an excellent foundation of techniques that will help them prevail in altercation they may face day to day. OLEORESIN CAPSICUM (OC) SPRAY

This 4-hour field-level certification program introduces the student to the legal and practical considerations necessary to deploy OC Spray in Law Enforcement, Security or Corrections settings. Exposure to OC Pepper Spray is both employer and/or student dependent.

EXPANDABLE BATON

This 4-hour basic level certification program familiarizes students with the use of expandable baton impact weapons for Law Enforcement, Security or Corrections use. The training includes use and presentation techniques as well as defensive application procedures. Certification acknowledges that the individual officer meets a competency-based standard of knowledge and performance.
Valid for one 1 year.

At least one of the following: valid Act 235, Act 120, Act 2, or Act 49 certifications.

LESS-THAN-LETHAL SHOTGUN

This is an entry level certification that will familiarize Law Enforcement, Corrections, or Security Officers with the use of Less-Than-Lethal munitions in a 12-gauge shotgun. Students will have live hands on training with loading, unloading, and deploying the less lethal munitions in a range setting. Range deployment includes Safety Soc rounds, WASP rounds, Breaching rounds, distractionary rounds, and live OC rounds.
Valid for one year.

At least one of the following: valid Act 235, Act 120, Act 2, or Act 49 certifications and employment verification.

COMBAT PISTOL

The key to success is preparation. This two-day course prepares the participant to, not only survive but, win the gunfight. Topics instill a winning combat mindset and prepare the participant to fight in an array of Law Enforcement specific settings and scenarios. This is not a “learn to shoot” course and students are expected to have a strong foundation beforehand.

PREREQUISITES

At least one of the following: valid Act 235, Act 120, Act 2, or Act 49 certifications.

REQUIREMENTS

Duty pistol, at least 3 magazines, 600-800 rounds of ammunition, range gear.

Backup pistol, qualification course.

The shotgun is one of the most versatile yet underutilized tools available to Public Safety Officers. This 8-hour course demonstrates that usefulness versatility over a variety of ranges, applications, and scenarios.

LAW ENFORCEMENT PATROL RIFLE

The modern standard, the AR15 platform patrol rifle is unmatched in its ability to give the frontline Public Safety Officer a massive amount firepower- if deployed to the best of its ability. This 2-day course demonstrates that ability and firepower equipping the Officer with the knowledge, tactical ability, and confidence to win the fight.

PREREQUISITES

At least one of the following: valid Act 235, Act 120, Act 2, or Act 49 certifications, and employment verification.

REQUIREMENTS

AR15 platform rifle w/ sling, at least 3 magazines, range gear, duty pistol, 800-1000 rounds of rifle ammunition, and 100 rounds of pistol ammunition.

CLOSE QUARTER BATTLE (CQB) FORCE ON FORCE

CQB training is designed to expose the student to a variety of scenarios that they may face during normal day to day duties. The use of man marker rounds (MMR) allows for an unlimited number of scenarios which mirror real-world encounters to a degree not possible with other training platforms. These scenarios take place in realistic settings and reinforce basic training while adding to the student’s skillset. Scenario examples include traffic stops, domestic disturbances, and hostage situations. Training focuses on teamwork, control of the encounter, verbal commands, solid tactics, and problem solving. This is the same training used by top-tier operators to sharpen their skills and build confidence.

At least one of the following: valid Act 235, Act 120, Act 2, or Act 49 certifications, and employment verification. This is an advanced course and is designed for the experienced shooter that possesses above-average proficiency with weapons handling, retention, and marksmanship.

CPR/FIRST AID/STOP THE BLEED TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION

Certification provided through the American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) program.

CPR
This course will teach the student how to perform CPR, use of a barrier device during rescue breathing, relieve a foreign body airway obstruction, and an introduction to the Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Instruction covers Adult/Child/Infant.

First Aid
Course trains participants first aid basics for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills.

Stop the Bleed
The student will learn three quick techniques to help save a life before someone bleeds out:
1 How to use your hands to apply pressure to a wound;
2 How to pack a wound to control bleeding;
3 How to correctly apply a tourniquet.

Employment Verification

Courses marked “Employment Verification” require the student to be actively employed by a law enforcement department and/or a licensed private security company. The organizational representative must provide their contact information and declare that the student is approved to attend the training course. Pennsylvania Act 49 (PA State Constables) students are required to provide the same from their resident District Justice.
